The Governor’s proposed budget requires that
Ross Valley submit a budget that makes cuts from next year's
expenditures. Final numbers will become clearer after the RVSD
Board of Trustees meets on Monday, February 28. YES is not in
a position to solve the district’s financial problem, but it
is in a position to help and that requires substantially increased
participation from district and community families. YES can
potentially expand its support for programs we already fund
with the district thus freeing up money to spend elsewhere.Or
the Foundation can look at taking on programs the district currently
funds alone.
. While our budget is committed for the 2007-08
school year, the YES board has not finalized the budget for
the 2008-09 school year. We promise all contributors that we
will work closely with the district to ensure that all funding
reflect the concerns and priorities of the district on behalf
of your children while continuing to support current YES programs.
Don’t forget, YES as an organization is made up of a volunteer
board and committees whose sole purpose is to raise money and
develop programs for Ross Valley students. But really, YES is
you and your child. Every student will benefit from contributions
to YES. Many questions have emerged from recent district meetings.
